At WellfirstKIDS, we work with children and teens whose developmental pathways have not been straightforward.
Some have experienced placement changes.
Some are navigating foster or kinship care.
Some are NDIS participants.
Some are simply struggling in ways that don't fit neatly into a label.
Our role is not to diagnose.
Our role is to understand function — and help the adults around the child respond effectively.
We believe children do well when the systems around them understand them well. Based in Brisbane, we're proud to be serving Brisbane families and foster carers across Queensland.
We specialise in baseline functional insight — particularly for children who may have missed developmental stages due to early adversity, disruption, or unmet needs.
Children in out-of-home care often move between systems. We provide reports and recommendations that:
Children with complex histories need predictability, safety, and attuned adults.
WellfirstKIDS is led by Bianca Hyslop, Founder and Counsellor, with experience supporting children and young people across school, community, and complex care settings.
Bianca Hyslop is the Founder and Counsellor at WellfirstKIDS, bringing clinical skill, educational insight, and genuine warmth to every family she supports. With extensive experience across child development, guidance counselling, and child protection, Bianca helps children feel understood and supported.
Before founding WellfirstKIDS, Bianca worked in Queensland state schools and independent school settings, supporting students from early childhood through adolescence. She delivered evidence‑informed interventions, conducted assessments, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams.
Bianca also held roles within child safety and family support services, working closely with vulnerable children and carers. This experience shaped her commitment to compassionate, trauma‑aware practice.
